The 2014 KZN Funding Fair

The KZN Funding Fair took place on 9 and 10 April 2014 at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban. It provides a platform for the facilitation of face-to-face interaction between entrepreneurs and various funding institutions.

Pitchers were given a time allocation in which to pitch their business plans to a group of funding representatives. A total of 35 projects were pitched and 41 meetings were scheduled for Day 2 of the fair between project promoters and interested funding institutions.

Woman in Business Breakfast - 28 March at the Boathouse Ballito

On the 28th of March 2014, ladies gathered together at the Boathouse Hotel for the iLembe Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism Woman in Business Breakfast.

This event was an iLembe Chamber initiative to create awareness of the need for woman in business linkages and networking. A portion of the funds raised through the breakfast will go towards the Chamber’s Woman in Business Forum Early Childhood Development project. This project has identified 21 crèches on the North Coast in desperate need of support in a sustainable manner and a baseline analysis has already been completed in partnership with the TREE Organisation.

The breakfast was a truly an indelible experience! Woman in business joined together to be inspired by Guest Speaker Liza Gresse on how to transform from GOOD TO GREAT whilst being treated with amazing prizes, champagne sponsored by Distell and breakfast at the beautiful hosting venue, The Boathouse Ballito.

Liza Gresse is the Director of Ubuhle H R Management Consultancy "where excellence is a habit".  She is the programme director for the "Woman Leadership Journey" and on the committee of the Woman in Business Association and has vast expertise in the fields of leadership, organisational change, motivation, emotional intelligence and intercultural intelligence and has delivered to clients, and audiences across South Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The Good to Great presentation is based on the business research of Jim Collins and published in the book Good to Great. The primary message is that greatness is not primarily a function of circumstance, but largely a matter of conscious choice and discipline.
